Senior Roadway Designer

GAI Consultants, Inc. is seeking a Senior Project Engineer (Roadway Design) to work within our Ohio Transportation Business Unit. The successful candidate will enjoy working in a challenging, fast-paced, varied, and team-oriented environment that will use their related experience to develop professionally and grow in today's global environment. Remote and/or Hybrid work options (home or office) are also viable options, and the successful candidate will be eligible for a sign‑on bonus.

Job Duties

• Roadway design for ODOT and Local Public Agency (LPA) clients
• Creates and reviews project design calculations, quantity takeoffs, specifications, plans, and contract documents
• Works within the Transportation Team assigning responsibilities
• Works within project schedules and budgets
• Applies ODOT design manual and AASHTO principles to highway design
• Utilizes roadway design CADD software
• May provide leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to a subordinate group.
• Occasional travel to client meetings and site visits with possible overnight stays (up to 10% of the time).

Qualifications

Education

Required: Bachelors or better.

Preferred: Bachelors or better in Engineering or related field; Masters or better.

Experience

Required: 18 years related experience.

Licenses & Certifications

Required: Professional Engineer; Driver's License.
