• Transform drawings into finished structural assemblies by executing a planned order of operations.
• Apply AISC Quality Management System practices to ensure every piece meets spec.
• Collaborate across disciplines—CNC, foremen, welders, fabricators, painters, and QC—to keep projects on track.

• Interpret and action structural steel shop drawings and weld symbols.
• Identify piece marks, drawing revisions, and finish codes; select correct parts (quantities, shapes, grades).
• Lay out with accuracy using tapes, squares, levels, and layout tools; mark orientation clearly.
• Perform tack welding; complete thermal cutting via oxy-fuel and/or plasma; grind to finish.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area; operate overhead cranes, welders, torches, and grinders safely.
• Verify material heat numbers, piece marks, and orientation; self-inspect and address issues pre-QC.
• Report drawing/material discrepancies to supervision immediately.

• First shift typically runs 5:30am–4:00pm, Monday–Friday.
• Second shift typically runs 4:00pm–2:30am, Monday–Friday.

• 5+ years in structural steel fabrication.
• Strong capability with shop drawings and weld symbols.
• Proven skill in layout, fitting, and fabrication of structural steel.
• Welding background and overhead crane operation experience.
• Clear understanding of tolerances and quality expectations.
• Dependable, safety-first, and quality-focused approach.
