Embedded Software Systems Engineer Aerospace

Salary: $130,000 - 180,000 per year Requirements:

• We require U.S. citizenship, U.S. national status, or a Green Card due to ITAR restrictions.
• We are looking for hands-on experience developing software in C and C++.
• We need experience building software for Linux-based platforms.
• We seek experience developing and troubleshooting software on embedded systems.
• We require familiarity with software development practices, standards, and configuration management tools such as Subversion or Git in an Agile environment.
• We need experience with embedded operating systems such as Linux, FreeRTOS, or VxWorks.
• We require experience creating high-reliability software for low-power embedded systems.
• A bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer/Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field is required.
• Preferred experience includes embedded Linux tools such as Yocto.
• Preferred experience includes software development for space, marine, or other rugged deployment environments.
• Preferred experience includes Linux kernel modules and device drivers.
• Preferred experience includes graphical user interface development using Python libraries.
• Preferred experience includes embedded networking software.
• Preferred experience includes resolving cybersecurity vulnerabilities in software products.
• Preferred experience includes hardware integration, testing, debugging tools, and board bring-up/verification in an electronics lab environment.

• We lead the design and development of new software capabilities for existing products and new applications.
• We carry software development through the full lifecycle across multiple projects.
• We work independently or as part of a small team to complete assigned work.
• We collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and test embedded software, firmware, and hardware.
• We support and enhance existing embedded systems.
• We coordinate with firmware, mechanical, RF, hardware, integration and test, and project management teams.
• We perform additional duties as assigned.

We are H10, an engineering services and consulting firm with a nationwide presence. Our teams support clients across mechanical and hardware engineering, software and application development, data and analytics, and project and program management. This is a 100% onsite role with preferred locations in Fairfax, VA or Chantilly, VA, and other options in Littleton, CO or Concord, NH. It is a long-term engagement estimated at one year or more. We offer a salary range of $130,000 to $180,000 annually for mid- and senior-level candidates, along with benefits for eligible employees including medical, dental, vision, PTO, and a 401(k) plan.
