Role Description NDX Security is seeking a North Dallas-based Residential Security System Technician for an on-site role, starting flexible part-time with the opportunity to transition into full-time. This role involves installing, configuring, and testing home security systems, cameras, alarms, access control devices, and related equipment in residential settings. The technician will perform wiring, mounting, device programming, system integration with home automation platforms, and basic network configuration for audio-visual and security components. Daily tasks include troubleshooting system issues, performing maintenance and upgrades, and ensuring installations meet safety and quality standards. The role also requires clear communication with customers, explaining system features, providing basic user training, and documenting work performed. Qualifications: * Active Texas DPS Security Alarm Installer registration (or active TOPS clearance ready for immediate company affiliation). Hands-on skills with installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of home security systems, security cameras, alarms, and related hardware. Ability to work with home automation, networking basics (Wi-Fi, routers, IP cameras), and audio-visual integration for residential environments. * Reliable personal transportation (truck/SUV preferred) and standard hand/power tools for low-voltage installations. Competence in reading schematics and floor plans, running and terminating low-voltage cabling, and using common electrical and hand tools safely. Strong customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical users. Attention to detail and adherence to safety, privacy, and security best practices in customers’ homes. Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and ability to travel within the Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex as required. Ability to work on ladders, in attics or crawl spaces, and lift or carry equipment as part of daily installation activities. Previous experience in residential security, low-voltage, or audio-visual installation is preferred; relevant certifications or technical training are a plus.
