Senior Accountant

Location: South Florida Work Arrangement: 4 x a week in office Employment Type: Full-Time Position Overview A global organization within the luxury hospitality and travel sector is seeking a hands‑on, analytical Senior Accountant to support month‑end close, financial reporting, reconciliations, and data analysis. This role requires someone who is technically strong in accounting and comfortable working directly in the general ledger, while also using Excel and Power BI to analyze financial results, identify trends, improve reporting, and provide meaningful business insights. Key Responsibilities Perform hands‑on month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close activities. Prepare journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and supporting schedules. Reconcile balance sheet, bank, cash, merchant, and other financial accounts. Analyze revenue, expenses, working capital, cash flow, and financial variances. Prepare financial statements and recurring management reports. Investigate discrepancies, unusual transactions, and material fluctuations. Support accounts receivable, cash application, and collections analysis. Develop and maintain reporting and dashboards using Power BI . Use advanced Excel to analyze large data sets and streamline reporting. Identify opportunities to automate accounting and reporting processes. Support audit requests, internal controls, and GAAP compliance. Participate in system implementations and reporting enhancements. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 5+ years of progressive accounting experience. Strong hands‑on experience with month‑end close, general ledger accounting, journal entries, and reconciliations. Strong financial analysis and variance‑analysis skills. Advanced Excel skills, including PivotTables, XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, and complex formulas. Practical experience with Power BI reporting and dashboards. Experience with a major ERP/accounting system. Strong understanding of GAAP. Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines. Preferred CPA or CPA‑track. Hospitality, travel, cruise, consumer services, or international‑company experience.
