*Safety Sensitive Position*

EH&S Assistant works with Environmental Health and Safety Manager and/or Specialist to plan, direct, and implement environmental health and safety programs to ensure a positive, safe, healthy, and incident-free work environment and is responsible to assist in compliance with all environmental and safety regulatory agencies. This position would also respond to emergency situations when they arise. Eliminate or control hazardous conditions resulting from human error, equipment and machine operations which may lead to human injury and/or property damage. Works with the EH&S Manager and/or specialist to plan and implements procedures, programs, and files regulatory reports in compliance with local, state and federal agencies. Assist with the record keeping, and manuals for these programs (including but not limited to): OSHA, DOT, DHS, ODEQ, Local Emergency Planning, Water & Wastewater, etc. Responsible for collecting the necessary information and readings to assist in completing the necessary permitting required. Provides assistance in developing, implementing and managing EH&S policies, programs and practices. Assist with new employee safety orientation programs and training. Assist in planning and implementing programs to train supervisors and employees to meet standards and to enhance & promote the company safety culture. Facility a Safety Committee Program throughout the foundry. Responsible for accident investigation & prevention programs, doctor visits, and on call 24/7. Be poised and professional in appearance with an upbeat, outgoing personality and the ability to present and sell ideas effectively. Approachable and able to work and interact with all levels of personnel. Hands on and able to work with detail in the development and execution of EH&S initiatives. Highly organized and attentive to detail, with the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize conflicting assignments, and maintain focus on project completion. Have promptness in meeting deadlines and responding to internal and external communications. Proven oral and written communication skills, with the ability to prepare and deliver concise, understandable reports and presentations. Self-starter and "go getter" with the ability to work in an unstructured environment with limited supervision. Willingness to do what it takes to get the job done. Proficiency in the use of personal computers, including spreadsheet, database and word processing applications. Proficiency in social media, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Snap Chat, etc. Maintain a safe working environment. All other duties as assigned.
