Job Title: Order Picker Job Description

The Order Picker plays a key role in warehouse operations by accurately selecting, packing, and preparing products for shipment. This position focuses on maintaining high levels of accuracy and efficiency while using warehouse systems and equipment to support smooth shipping and receiving processes. The role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to safety and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Select correct parts, products, or materials from warehouse shelves and bins based on digital or paper pick lists.

• Use RF scanners or scan guns to locate, verify, and record items during the picking process.

• Pack and secure items by wrapping, boxing, or crating them using appropriate packing materials to prevent damage in transit.

• Apply accurate shipping labels, barcodes, and destination markers to completed packages to ensure proper routing.

• Assist with shipping and receiving activities, including loading and unloading materials, and preparing orders for dispatch.

• Support warehouse packing and general labor tasks as needed to keep operations running smoothly.

• Handle material movement within the warehouse, including palletizing, staging, and organizing products for shipment or storage.

• Use warehouse management and inventory systems to verify counts, update records, and report any discrepancies.

• Help maintain accurate warehouse inventory by performing regular counts and communicating issues to the appropriate team members.

• Safely operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks and, when required and trained, forklifts.

• Follow OSHA and company safety standards at all times, including proper use of PPE and adherence to warehouse safety procedures.

• Keep the work area clean, organized, and free of hazards to support a safe and efficient work environment.

• Collaborate with warehouse staff to meet daily picking, packing, shipping, and receiving goals.

• Report equipment or safety concerns promptly to help maintain a safe and reliable operation.

Essential Skills

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift heavy items frequently, typically up to 40–50 lbs, throughout a full shift.

• Strong attention to detail with high accuracy in matching product numbers, quantities, and order details to prevent shipping mistakes.

• Familiarity with barcode scanners, RF scanners, or scan guns for picking and inventory tasks.

• Basic computer skills and comfort using warehouse inventory or warehouse management software.

• Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic to support consistent warehouse operations.

• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and collaborate with warehouse staff to meet daily shipping and receiving goals.

• Commitment to following safety procedures, including OSHA guidelines and company safety standards.

• Capability to perform general labor, material handling, picking, packing, loading, and unloading tasks in a warehouse environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with order picking in a warehouse or distribution environment.

• Background in shipping and receiving, including labeling, documentation, and staging orders.

• Comfort working with warehouse inventory processes and participating in cycle counts or stock checks.

• Experience using pallet jacks or other material handling equipment in a warehouse setting.

• Ability to adapt to varying workloads and support different warehouse functions such as packing, general labor, and material handling.

• Strong communication skills to coordinate with team members and report inventory or safety issues clearly.

Work Environment

The role is based in a warehouse environment that can be warm, with air circulating but not cooled by traditional air conditioning. Racking and storage structures may affect airflow, so temperatures can feel higher in some areas. Personal protective equipment is provided, and a hard hat and safety vest must be worn at all times in the warehouse. The work involves regular physical activity, including standing, walking, bending, and lifting, while operating around material handling equipment and active shipping and receiving areas.

This is a Permanent position based out of Litchfield Park, AZ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
