Production Supervisor

Summary: Our award-winning client is seeking a Production Supervisor to join their team. The role of the Production Supervisor is To Support all requirements of production. Responsibilities: Responsible for the supervision of all hourly plant teammates on the shift, including the coaching, training, discipline, and scheduling of work. Responsible for ensuring a safe work environment for all teammates, including providing instruction on safe operations, necessary personal protective equipment, and goods housekeeping. Responsible for decision making and working closely with other departments in problem solving on any technical or scheduling issues and coordinating with other shifts to ensure good communication. Responsible for ensuring that the production schedule is met in an efficient and effective manner to maximize plant efficiency and meet customer requirements. Maintain control of department labor cost including overtime and maximize labor utilization. Promote and lead lean manufacturing and continuous improvement activities such as kaizen and 5S initiatives by utilizing the Production System. Ensure set up and cycle times are met. Responsible for ensuring all teammates receive the necessary training required to perform their duties. Responsible for ensuring quality standards are met according to the quality management system and IATF 16949:2016 requirements. Responsible for ensuring the accuracy and completeness of all production paperwork and documentation and overseeing any stock movements and shipping duties to maintain accurate inventory levels. All other duties as assigned Required Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's degree in management or business preferred. Experience: Minimum three to five years' experience in a manufacturing environment. Record of supervisory experience and accomplishments. Solid understanding of quality requirements. Basic computer knowledge required. Strong people skills including communication, attention to detail and organization skills. Knowledge of health, safety and environmental requirements and manpower planning. Knowledge of lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, 5S and kaizen, root cause analysis, problem solving methodology and SPC. Must demonstrate the ability to successfully plan, coordinate and direct the activities of the production control function, which includes the design, implementation and continuous improvement of the systems and procedures associated with the functional area.
