WCDB is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Medical Payment Processor with experience processing credit card payments and reviewing EOBs to join our Payment Posting Department .

This position is responsible for accurately processing credit card payments related to medical billing accounts while following a detailed, multi-step payment process.

The ideal candidate will have previous medical billing and credit card/payment processing experience , be comfortable reading and interpreting Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) and have the ability to efficiently navigate multiple systems.

This is a high-volume, accuracy-driven position requiring excellent attention to detail, organization, productivity, and the ability to work independently.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Process credit card payments accurately and timely according to established procedures.
• Review and interpret EOBs to determine the appropriate payment amount.
• Enter, update, and verify payment information across multiple systems .
• Navigate between systems to research and track payment history .
• Verify payment information for accuracy before processing transactions.
• Identify incorrect or incomplete payment information requiring additional research.
• Run and distribute required payment and processing reports .
• Maintain accurate documentation and payment records .
• Prioritize daily workload and efficiently move between multiple tasks and accounts.
• Process a high volume of transactions while maintaining accuracy and productivity .
• Identify payment discrepancies or information requiring additional review and escalate appropriately within the Payment Posting Department.
• Communicate payment issues or trends to management when additional review is required.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and follow all HIPAA requirements .

Core Competencies

• Credit Card Payment Processing – Accurately processes credit card transactions while following established procedures and verification requirements.
• EOB Interpretation – Ability to read and understand EOBs to identify the correct payment amount and supporting payment information.
• Payment Verification & Accuracy – Carefully reviews patients account and payment information before processing to reduce errors and incorrect transactions.
• High-Volume Processing – Maintains accuracy and productivity while processing a high volume of daily transactions.
• Attention to Detail – Recognizes incorrect, incomplete, or inconsistent payment information requiring additional review.
• Multi-System Navigation – Efficiently works between multiple software systems and payment platforms throughout the processing workflow.
• Organization & Time Management – Prioritizes daily workload and manages multiple accounts and tasks while meeting productivity expectations.
• Data Entry Accuracy – Demonstrates strong typing and data-entry skills with an emphasis on accuracy.
• Communication & Escalation – Identifies issues requiring additional review and communicates them appropriately within the Payment Posting Department.
• Independent Work & Accountability – Able to work independently and maintain productivity while following established processes.
• HIPAA & Confidentiality – Protects patient and financial information and follows all confidentiality requirements.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 1 year of medical billing experience required.
• Previous credit card/payment processing experience required.
• Experience reading and interpreting medical EOBs required.
• Strong data-entry and typing skills .

This is a full-time, in-office position.
