Fixed Route Bus Operator – $19.25 / hour Responsibilities Acts as front-line point of contact to ensure delivery of quality customer service. Safely operates multiple types of buses through light to heavy city and freeway traffic. Delivers passengers safely and courteously along specified routes, making only designated stops in the order prescribed unless otherwise directed by Dispatch. Complies with all federal, state, and local laws related to bus operation, traffic, and safety. Ensures the highest quality of bus service is delivered to customers. Assists customers, including those with disabilities, in a safe, friendly, and courteous manner, using the wheelchair lift and safety restraints as needed. Promotes safety awareness and follows safety procedures to reduce or eliminate accidents. Operates assigned vehicles in compliance with company safety rules and customer standards. Operates all equipment safely and efficiently, including farebox, lift, radio, emergency equipment, hatches, and rear engine compartment door. Performs pre‑trip inspection and completes DVIR in accordance with FMCSR. Coordinates detour, accident, and incident information with radio dispatch and follows instructions. Makes effective independent decisions and manages conflicts based on safety, experience, training, and policies. Follows procedures for the collection, processing, and documentation of fares and counting passengers as required. Reports and follows up on all accidents or unusual incidents involving RATP Dev vehicles. Other duties as required. Fixed Route Transit Driver Provide information to passengers in a courteous, efficient manner. Operate small bus/van over prescribed route following the manifest. Complete daily manifest including pick‑up and drop‑off times and odometer readings. Use proper etiquette to assist passengers with disabilities. Secure wheelchairs and operate lift. Prepare written reports on accidents and incidents. Work flexible schedule, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays. Hold or be able to obtain a CDL Class B permit or license with a passenger endorsement (CDL training provided). Requirements Must be at least 21 years of age or older. Must be licensed for at least 3 years. Must pass a DOT Physical exam. Have a high school diploma or equivalent. Provide customer service, CDL A or B passenger endorsement. Bonus Incentive Non‑CDL driver will receive $1000.00 / $500.00 after 6 months, and another $500.00 after 12 months completed. Fully licensed CDL driver will receive $2000.00 / $1000.00 after 6 months, and another $1000.00 after 12 months completed. Dispatchers, operations supervisors, mechanics who are fully licensed also receive the same $2000.00 bonus incentive.
