Desktop Support Technician – 12‑Month Position Reach Cyber Charter School is a tuition‑free online public K‑12 school in Pennsylvania, connecting students with certified teachers and a high‑quality curriculum. Authorized by the Pennsylvania Department of Education in 2016, the school is state certified and open to students throughout Pennsylvania, with the vision to inspire and nurture future success for all students. We promote a collaborative team environment and encourage the use of available resources. Position Summary The Desktop Support Technician is responsible for supporting and maintaining the school’s computer systems, including laptops, desktops, and connected peripherals. The role involves diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, installing, and upgrading all school hardware and computer equipment to ensure optimal performance, providing both onsite and remote support, troubleshooting problems, reporting incidents, and offering end‑user assistance as needed. Key Responsibilities Use the helpdesk ticketing system to manage reported incidents through the ticket lifecycle. Assist staff and families with issues related to computers, phones, tablets, and peripherals. Coordinate between staff, families, internal support, and vendor support. Support end‑users with limited knowledge of computers, software, hardware, and systems. Create and update standardized documentation of processes, both current and new. Work closely with Applications and Infrastructure teams on larger tasks and projects. Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction. Education & Qualifications Prefer an Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university in a technical field or equivalent experience. Require two technical certifications such as CompTIA Core certs, MCSA, or MTA. Prefer one year of experience in information systems support. Knowledge / Skills / Abilities Prioritize and complete tickets, tasks, projects, and other assigned work in a timely manner. Be attentive to details and analytical in execution. Provide superior customer service to frustrated users remotely. Possess a broad range of information technology knowledge/experience. Communicate effectively in customer‑friendly terms, both verbally and in writing. Resolve issues productively and efficiently. Work well independently and as a member of the IT team. Be resourceful using supplied documentation, tools, and solutions. Show great pride in completed work. Essential Functions / Duties / Responsibilities Must reside in the state of Pennsylvania; candidates must live within driving distance of Enola, PA to work in the office three days a week. Pass the background checks required for all school employees. Accept limited travel and occasional overnight stays, if required by the position.
