Accounting Specialist

Accounting Specialist We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Accounting Specialist to support the day-to-day operations of the accounting department. This role will assist with maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and supporting month-end and reporting activities. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities: Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including invoice processing, payment preparation, and collections support Enter and maintain accurate financial data in the accounting system Reconcile bank statements, credit card accounts, and general ledger accounts Support month-end and year-end close processes, including preparing journal entries and schedules Maintain organized financial records and supporting documentation in compliance with company policies Respond to internal and external inquiries related to accounting transactions Assist with audits, reporting, and special projects as needed Perform general administrative duties to support the accounting team Qualifications: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience) 2+ years of experience in an accounting or finance support role preferred Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial processes Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting software Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines Strong communication and teamwork skills Ascendo is a certified minority owned staffing firm, we welcome and celebrate diversity.
