The Role

We are hiring our first dedicated Planning & Materials Manager to own purchasing, inventory control, and production planning end to end. Today purchasing is handled part-time and inventory has no single owner. You will own both.

This is a hands-on seat with real authority over how material flows through the business — not a desk that inherits a clean system.

What You'll Own

•       Purchase orders, vendor lead times, expediting, and pricing and terms negotiation across our supplier base

•       Item master and BOM accuracy in NetSuite — reorder points, safety stock, and lead time settings

•       A working cycle count program and accurate physical inventory, including WIP

•       Translating sales backlog and forecast into build and buy schedules

•       Supplier performance: on-time delivery, quality escapes, and dual-sourcing where we are exposed

•       Working directly with production, engineering, and service on material availability for builds and spare parts

First 90 Days

Expect to spend your first quarter on cleanup: auditing the item master and BOMs, establishing count discipline, and setting reorder points against real consumption data. We are looking for someone who has done a materials cleanup before, not only run a steady-state desk.

What We're Looking For

•       5+ years in purchasing, materials, or inventory management in a manufacturing environment

•       Hands-on ERP experience — NetSuite strongly preferred, other ERPs considered

•       Demonstrated experience fixing inventory accuracy, not just maintaining it

•       Comfortable with BOMs, routings, and discrete, low-volume assembly

•       Strong Excel — able to build your own analysis without waiting on IT

•       Direct, organized, and willing to walk the floor

Nice to Have

•       Electromechanical or industrial equipment manufacturing background

•       Import, freight, and customs exposure

•       APICS/ASCM certification (CPIM)
