Process Engineer

JOB SUMMARY:Responsible for providing daily technical support for a Cleveland facility Manufacturing department(s) under the direction of the Engineering Manager and specific Plant Superintedant of that department.ESSENTIAL DUTIES:Process/equipment troubleshooting (including process control systems), utilization of SPC to improve batch quality, and assistance with cost reduction, process reliability and quality improvement programs.Expectation is that a successful applicant will develop skill sets and work on small scale capital projects.The main responsibility for this individual will be coordinating/facilitating several efficiency initiatives within the department and following through on them to the point of realized benefits.Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards.Works with in-house maintenance and outside contractors to facilitate repairs & improvements.Analyzes and plans space requirements, and workflow, and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.Training:General Employee Training (Annual)Hazardous Waste / RCRA Training (Annual)DOT General Awareness Training (Every 3 years)**SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES:**None.**QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:****EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND/OR CERTIFICATION**B.S.in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology (ABET Accredited)Ability to work effectively on multiple projectsResults-orientedStrong interpersonal skills as a team playerStrong technical and communication (oral and written) skillsGood problem solving skillsDeveloping leadership skills.Must have proven success in project management and have the ability to implement business process improvements affecting multiple departments.**COMMUNICATION SKILLS**Strong communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to communicate clearly and concisely both in oral and written form using a variety of communication techniques and tools to ensure appropriate flow of information.Ability to effectively present information and respond to inquiries, and/or complaintsDisplays courtesy, tact and respect when dealing with others.******OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES**Maintains appropriate confidentialityAbility to meet strict deadlinesAbility to manage multiple projects simultaneously to successful completionAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionPromotes a harassment-free environmentEstablishes and maintains effective working relationships; demonstrates a commitment to teamworkMaintains a strong attention to detailHighly developed computer skills in Excel, Word and other office programsProficient in use of AutoCAD & Autodesk Fusion 360Familiar with use and programming of PLCs & Ladder LogicCan read blueprints and architectural drawings as well as read/create P&IDsAbility to understand complex systems as a whole (Electrical, Mechanical, HVAC, Boilers, etc.)Must be able to respond to plant system & utility failures/disruptions in an efficient mannerStrong follow-up & follow through communication skills with contractors (in-person, phone, email, etc.)Manufacturing industry experience preferredAbility to identify and define problems, collect and analyzes data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environmentAbility to work off shift hours in order to meet the needs of the business.**PHYSICAL DEMANDS:**While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, and talk or hear.
