Job Summary

We are seeking a customer-focused Personal Banker for a direct hire opportunity in the East Bay. This role is ideal for an experienced banking professional who enjoys helping customers with everyday financial needs, opening and maintaining accounts, and recommending banking solutions that support each client’s goals.

This Personal Banker / Bank Teller position offers a stable, service-driven branch banking environment with supportive leadership, a collaborative team culture, and a strong focus on professionalism, accuracy, and customer care. The role is a great fit for someone with teller, personal banking, retail banking, or consumer banking experience who wants to continue building skills in customer service, sales, account management, and branch operations.

Key Responsibilities

- Open new personal banking accounts accurately and maintain existing customer accounts.
- Promote and cross-sell banking products and services based on customer needs.
- Deliver friendly, professional, and accurate customer service in a branch banking environment.
- Resolve customer questions, account concerns, and service issues in a timely manner.
- Perform outbound calling to support sales opportunities, customer retention, and product usage.
- Maintain confidentiality, compliance, and attention to detail in all customer interactions.

Compensation and Benefits

- Compensation: $25.00 to $27.00 per hour.
- Job type: Direct hire.
- Schedule: Open availability, including weekends, is required.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Open and maintain personal banking accounts in accordance with branch procedures.
- Support customer relationship-building through needs-based product and service recommendations.
- Provide accurate teller and personal banking support in a customer-facing branch setting.
- Assist with outbound calling, customer retention, and account service follow-up.

- 3 to 5 years of relevant banking, teller, personal banking, retail banking, or consumer banking experience.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally.
- Ability to promote banking products and services based on customer needs.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality when handling customer information.
- Comfortable working in a branch environment with sales, service, and operational responsibilities.
- Reliable, team-oriented, and able to maintain professionalism in a fast-paced customer service setting.
- Open availability, including weekends, is required.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with new account opening, account maintenance, and branch banking operations.
- Prior experience in a customer-facing sales or relationship banking role.
- Familiarity with consumer banking products, deposit accounts, and cross-selling techniques.
- Strong ability to build long-term customer relationships and support a positive branch culture.
