Position: MIG Welder, B-Shift
Location: Pelzer, SC
Shift: Friday, Saturday, Sunday - 6:00 am to 6:00 pm
Shift Differential: +10% pay premium for B-Shift

Job Overview


Express Employment is partnering with fast-growing, innovative manufacturing and automation company based at its Pelzer, South Carolina. The facility looking for a skilled MIG Welder to join our welding team on the B-shift (weekends). The welder will be responsible for fabricating and welding metal components, assemblies, and subassemblies used in custom automation equipment and metal fabrication projects. This is a critical role in supporting our manufacturing capacity during high-demand hours, and it comes with a 10% shift premium.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform MIG (Metal Inert Gas) welding on a variety of metal parts and structures, including fabricated frames, weldments, and assemblies.
• Read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and fabrication drawings to produce welds that meet design specifications.
• Set up and prepare welding equipment, jigs, and fixtures as needed.
• Inspect welds for quality, accuracy, and integrity; perform grinding or rework where necessary.
• Maintain clean and safe work area, adhering to all safety protocols and PPE requirements.
• Collaborate with fabricators, machinists, and engineers to ensure accurate alignment and fit of welded assemblies.
• Record and maintain welding data, including weld parameters, materials used, and quality checks.
• Assist with basic material handling, loading/unloading parts, and staging for welding.
• Identify and report equipment issues; help with preventive maintenance of welding equipment.
• Help mentor junior welders, as needed.
