This is a part-time regular position.Essential Functions:Clean all aspects of assigned areaClean and disinfect sinks, toilets, and trash receptacles, and mop restroom floorsClean and fill toilet paper and paper towel dispensersClean mirrors, handrails, floors, glass doors, windows, window ledges, file cabinets, blinds, shelves, tables, chairs, dry erase boards, ceilings, diffusers, and air ductsVacuum, empty trash cans, and replace linersSecure areaAssure all doors are locked and lights turned off before leaving the areaAssist with room set-upsTransport tables and chairs for classroom/area set-ups and return to storage after eventInstall floor coverings in gymPull out bleachers, set up stage, podium, and sporting equipmentSafety and SecurityUnderstand the dangers and safety precautions in the use of chemicalsDisplay "wet floor" signs when appropriate and remove them when floors are dryPromote a Culture of BelongingSupport and promote an environment of belonging where all students, faculty members, and college employees feel welcomed, valued, and empowered to contributeFoster a community where each individual and their varied perspectives enrich the educational experience and create a safe and respectful environmentSupport the College's policies and programming related to access, fair employment, and equal opportunities for allMarginal Functions:Restock cleaning carts and area janitor closetsSpray for insectsWater plantsAssist with snow removalMonitor inside building security for theftMake sure the building is cleared and no one re-enters in case of fireMay be required to perform associated duties, functions, or assignments in other divisions/programs/areas as requiredPerform other College functions and duties as assignedMust be able to work varied days, hours, shifts, locations, and campuses as requiredWork schedules (hours/days/work location) are scheduled by Southeast Community College based on the needs of the CollegeWork hours, shifts, days, and work locations may vary depending on the needs of Southeast Community College and are subject to modificationEmergency or scheduled special activities may require hours outside of the regular workweekRequired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Knowledge of custodial supplies, materials, and equipmentAbility to move approximately 100 pounds a short distance with assistanceAbility to move 50 pounds up to 30 feetAbility to work with cleaning chemicalsAbility to work and communicate with a diverse group of students, staff, and publicAbility to work as a productive member of a maintenance team using the established practices, procedures, and policies of the college and directives of the supervisorAbility to communicate effectively in writing, in person, and on the phoneAbility to use basic computer skillsMinimum Qualifications:High School graduate or GED. One (1) year of successful experience in the custodial area.Benefits:Part-time regular employees are eligible to participate in the TIAA retirement plan through a Roth, SRA, or 457(B) account, with no match provided by the College. Additionally, part-time regular employees may enroll in supplemental benefits and the group vision plan through employee-paid premiums.Schedule:Three part-time positions are available: 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm, 6:00 pm – 10:00 pm, 7:00 pm – 11:00 pm. Scheduled special activities, emergencies, or temporary schedule changes may require hours outside of the regular workday or workweek.
