This position has an end date of 8/31/2027 but may be renewable based upon availability of funding, work performance, and progress toward goals.**JOB SUMMARY**This role supports mental health programs and initiatives developed through the Texas Child Mental Health Care Consortium, with a focus on improving the quality and accessibility of mental health care for children and adolescents across Texas.The Child Psychiatry Access Network (CPAN) and the Perinatal Psychiatry Access Network (PeriPAN) are an interdisciplinary clinical services program intended to offer primary care clinic providers and OBGYNs prompt access to on-call psychiatrists to provide expertise in assessment, treatment, and referrals for pediatric and/or perinatal patients identified as having a mental health challenge. The Senior Provider Behavioral Health Consultant (LPC-S or LCSW-S) will provide consultation services to providers, such as pediatricians, family medicine physicians, OB/GYN physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and/or midwives needing assistance with patient behavioral health concerns, psychiatric consultation, behavioral management plans, or resources with the goal of increasing access to mental health services for mothers, children, and adolescents. This position will serve as lead Behavioral Health Consultant and work efficiently to help providers manage mental health concerns and facilitate referrals.**ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:****Clinical Consultation and Coordination*** Manages and evaluates primary care provider requests in assessment, diagnosis, behavioral management, and referral assistance according to program protocol.* Communicates requests to program psychiatrists within prescribed timelines and provides psychoeducation, referral information, and resources upon request.* Standardizes clinical communication while obtaining psychiatry consultative services in the context of youth and perinatal mental health.* Oversees and collaborates with primary care clinicians, psychiatrists, and program staff on CPAN direct service line.* Provides leadership and coordination for consults and referrals for children, adolescents, and mothers with mental health needs.**Clinical Documentation, Training, and Quality Assurance*** Standardizes clinical documentation and communication processes to meet HIPAA standards on program platforms.* Leads internal and external clinical trainings on perinatal and child/adolescent mental health.* Leads case consultations and conducts in-depth case reviews to inform program practices, minimize risks, and standardize clinical service delivery.* Follows standard criteria to track project progress and status to ensure alignment with program objectives.* Participates in supervision, feedback, and quality assurance checks.* Maintains records and performs data entry as required by protocol.**Provider Outreach and Enrollment*** Conducts outreach to educate providers and community agencies about CPAN and PeriPAN.* Enrolls providers in CPAN and PeriPAN programs to assist their patients in need of mental health care.**Staff Support and Supervision*** Assists with onboarding of new clinical staff.* Provides clinical supervision to provisionally licensed clinical staff (e.g., LMSWs or LPC-Associates), which may include student learners, as requested by program leadership.*Other Job Duties may apply as assigned***MARGINAL OR PERIODIC FUNCTIONS:*** Participates in special projects or initiatives related to CPAN and PeriPAN as assigned by program leadership.* Assists with development or revision of program protocols, workflows, and training materials as needed.* Attends conferences, workshops, or continuing education sessions to maintain licensure and stay current on best practices in pediatric and perinatal mental health.* Performs other duties as assigned to meet program goals and objectives.* Adheres to internal controls and reporting structure.* Performs related duties as required.**KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES****Functional/Technical Skill*** Possesses and applies in-depth knowledge of behavioral health, psychiatric consultation, and evidence-based practices to deliver high-quality clinical services.* Accurately assesses and interprets complex mental health cases for pediatric and perinatal populations.* Applies clinical protocols and HIPAA standards consistently in documentation and communication.* Provides expert psychoeducation and guidance to primary care providers on behavioral health management.**Interpersonal Savvy*** Builds strong relationships with stakeholders, communicates effectively, and adapts style to different audiences.* Establishes trust and rapport with primary care providers and interdisciplinary teams.* Handles sensitive conversations with empathy and professionalism.* Adjusts communication approach for physicians, nurses, and community partners to ensure clarity and collaboration.**Problem Solving*** Uses rigorous logic and critical thinking to identify problems, analyze options, and implement effective solutions.* Quickly evaluates provider requests and determines appropriate consultative actions.* Anticipates barriers to care and develops creative solutions for referral challenges.* Uses data and case reviews to inform program improvements and minimize risks.**Planning and Organizing*** Prioritizes tasks, manages time effectively, and coordinates resources to meet program objectives.* Tracks consults and referrals to ensure timely follow-up and compliance with protocols.* Organizes outreach activities and provider enrollment efficiently.* Balances clinical duties with administrative responsibilities without compromising quality.**Presentation Skills*** Communicates information clearly and effectively in group settings, adapting content for different audiences.* Leads internal and external trainings on perinatal and child/adolescent mental health.* Presents case reviews and program updates to leadership and stakeholders.* Uses visual aids and structured content to enhance understanding during provider education sessions.**Managing and Measuring Work*** Sets clear objectives, monitors progress, and ensures accountability for results.* Applies standard criteria to track project progress and status.* Maintains accurate records and data entry for program reporting.* Participates in quality assurance checks to ensure alignment with program goals.**EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE****MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:**Requires a Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Education, Psychology, or a related discipline with at least 3 year(s) of experience in a medical, educational, or nonprofit setting, with at least one (1) year providing clinical supervision.* Strong technological skills and ability to perform computer tasks and utilize electronic health records independently**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:*** Experience working in health systems caring for patients with behavioral or mental health challenges.* Experience working with PCPs, OB/GYN physicians, and/or family practitioners.* Experience working across programs, departments, and/or institutions to achieve goals.* Proficiency in at least one electronic medical records system, e.g., Athena or Epic.* Bilingual in English and Spanish.**LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS OR CERTIFICATIONS****REQUIRED:*** Active licensure in Texas as one of the following: + Licensed Clinical Social Worker Supervisor (LCSW-S) + Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor (LPC-S)**PREFERRED:*** None**Salary
