Hands-on SQL development, report building, and Power BI work across our Microsoft data stack (SQL Server, Azure, Fabric, Power BI). Must operate independently and communicate clearly with both technical and business stakeholders.Must-Have Technical SkillsStrong SQL (Structured Query Language) — able to translate between SQL logic and business context in both directionsSSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services) — heavy emphasis, non-negotiableSSMS (SQL Server Management Studio)Power BI — dashboards and paginated reportsDAX (Data Analysis Expressions) and M languageADF (Azure Data Factory)PySpark / SparkSQLPython for accessing APIs (Application Programming Interfaces) via standard libraries or equivalentExcel Macros and Power QueryWorking knowledge of Microsoft Fabric (basic is fine — we'll ramp them up)Required Soft SkillsProactive self-starter — doesn't wait to be handed assignmentsResearches independently before asking questionsAudits their own output thoroughly and calls out inconsistent or unexpected resultsCommunicates effectively when requirements need clarificationAccess may be granted based on role and need.
