Within our Retail locations, District Support Pharmacists (DSPs) cultivate a culture of excellence, serving as role models, demonstrating genuine care, and setting high standards for pharmacy teams. Responsibilities Live our purpose by managing and improving patient health through safe dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices. Travel the district to fill pharmacist shifts as scheduled, overseeing pharmacy operations and acting as Pharmacy Manager’s proxy during bench shifts. Support safe and accurate prescription fulfillment, directing the pharmacy team to follow workflow procedures and safety guardrails. Assume Pharmacy Manager’s day‑to‑day duties when the only or primary pharmacist‑on‑duty. Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy, coaching the team, and collaborating with the patient’s healthcare team to resolve insurance or medication issues. Proactively offer and deliver immunizations, engaging Pharmacy Technicians to learn immunization procedures. Manage pharmacy inventory, guiding the team in inventory best practices, especially for cold‑chain products. Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs while fostering a safe, inclusive, and engaging team dynamic. Maintain relevant clinical and technical skills, pursue ongoing learning, and support patients in pharmacist‑delivered clinical care services. Understand and comply with federal, state, and company policies, including controlled substance dispensing and recordkeeping, to protect patient privacy and safety. Required Qualifications Active Pharmacist License in the state where the Store is located. Active National Provider Identifier (NPI). Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list. Essential Functions Travel within a reasonable radius to support market staffing as business needs require. Maintain regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends. Complete required training within the designated timeframe. Attention and Focus Concentrate on tasks over time. Pivot quickly between tasks to meet patient and business needs. Confirm prescription information and label accuracy to ensure patient safety. Customer Service and Team Orientation Seek ways to assist people in a friendly manner. Recognize patient reactions and respond appropriately. Communication Skills Use verbal and written communication to interact with patients and colleagues. Practice active listening, give full attention, ask questions, and avoid inappropriate interruptions. Mathematical Reasoning Use math to solve problems such as determining tablets, day’s supply, and bottle quantities. Problem Resolution Identify challenging interactions and choose the best course of action. Physical Demands Remain mobile and upright for extended periods. Lift, scan, and bag items; reach and stretch overhead. Repeatedly use fingers for picking, typing, etc. Move items requiring up to 20 lbs or less; maintain precision with equipment. Communicate ideas verbally with accuracy. Perform additional tasks as directed by Supervisor or Manager.
