City/State: Tuscaloosa, Alabama

Shift: Nights, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, every other weekend and holidays as required

Job Description:

The Med Surg/Tele General Surgical Unit is a 32-bed unit specializing in exceptional postoperative care for general surgical patients. Nurses in this area work with a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio and focus on all aspects of postoperative care, including pain management, mobility, and bedside procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Provide postoperative care for patients, ensuring pain management and mobility.
• Collaborate closely with family practice physicians, hospitalists, and surgeons.
• Float to other units and hospitals as needed.

Requirements:

• Valid AL or Compact License (No temporary licenses accepted).
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA BLS) certification.
• Minimum of 18 months to 2 years of experience in the field of specialty, with at least 1 year under a professional license.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) degree.
