Overview: This role supports the daily operations of clinical areas, fostering positive relationships with physicians, staff, and patients while upholding professional and clinical standards to ensure safe, ethical, and high-quality patient care.
Fiscal Responsibility
Efficiently manages time to complete operational duties, including staff coordination, productivity monitoring, and handling unexpected events. Collaborates with leadership to develop flexible schedules, oversees attendance systems, monitors overtime, and manages budgetary concerns such as supply usage and purchase approvals.
Quality Management
Acts as a unit leader in the director's absence, participates in hiring processes, and assists with performance evaluations and staff counseling. Maintains clear communication with physicians and ancillary services, engages in continuous quality improvement initiatives, and oversees data collection and reporting related to unit projects.
Patient Satisfaction
Promotes patient-centered care through rounding, timely responses, service recovery, and staff recognition. Ensures patient rights are respected and participates in community health education and awareness events within a regional healthcare setting.
Patient Safety
Maintains communication channels for reporting issues, develops and updates policies based on evidence-based practices, and monitors staff adherence to safety protocols and professional standards.
Professional Growth
Encourages self-directed learning and professional development, supports staff education and certification pursuits, and participates in orientation and mentoring programs. Engages with professional organizations and educational opportunities to enhance expertise.
Customer Service
Demonstrates exemplary guest relations and communication skills, promoting a culture of respect, compassion, and accountability among coworkers and patients. Upholds service excellence standards and fosters interdepartmental collaboration.
Education and Experience
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or specialty degree preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years in leadership roles; management experience preferred.
Licensure and Certifications
- Active Registered Nurse license as required by the regional nursing board.
- Certification in area of expertise within 2 years or as discipline requires.
Work Shift: 1st Shift, full-time (40 hours per week)
