Cardiology Stepdown Registered Nurse

Mission Health, based in Asheville, NC, is seeking a Cardiology Stepdown Registered Nurse to join our Healthcare & Medical Services department. In this role, you will provide high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to adult patients transitioning from intensive care to a stepdown level of care, with a strong focus on complex cardiac conditions such as heart failure, post–myocardial infarction, post–cardiac procedure recovery, and cardiac rhythm management. Working in a fast-paced, team-centered environment, you will perform comprehensive assessments, develop and implement individualized care plans, administer and titrate cardiac medications, monitor telemetry and hemodynamic status, and respond promptly to changes in patient condition. You will collaborate closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, pharmacists, respiratory therapists, case managers, and other members of the interdisciplinary team to coordinate safe, efficient, and compassionate care from admission through discharge. Responsibilities include continuous cardiac monitoring and rhythm interpretation, management of cardiac drips per protocol, reinforcement of patient and family education on cardiac disease, lifestyle modification, and medication adherence, and active participation in quality and safety initiatives. You will document care accurately in the electronic health record, follow all Mission Health clinical policies and regulatory standards, and contribute to a culture of safety, respect, and accountability.
