We are seeking a medical assistant to directly support a nurse practitioner providing primary care services to an adult medicaid population with complex medical needs. This position is Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm and requires travel between the salem and saugus office locations, with salem coverage on tuesdays and wednesdays and saugus coverage on mondays and fridays. The remaining weekday will possibly be dedicated to accompanying the nurse practitioner on home visits throughout the north shore region. The ma will be responsible for a blend of clinical and administrative duties including rooming patients, assisting with direct patient care, outreach calls, in-basket management, care coordination, and supporting face-to-face patient visits. The role also requires flexibility to provide cross-coverage for other providers and office staff as needed. We are seeking a highly collaborative, team-oriented medical assistant with at least three years of experience who is comfortable working with complex patient populations and capable of managing multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced primary care environment.

The role supports healthcare teams by assisting with both clinical and non-clinical patient services under the direction of healthcare providers. Key responsibilities include taking vital signs, documenting patient information, scheduling appointments, and managing patient flow. This role involves direct interaction with patients to ensure their comfort and address concerns, as well as collaboration with physicians, nurse practitioners, and nursing staff to facilitate efficient care.

education: high school diploma or equivalent required. associate's degree medical assisting preferred.

licenses and credentials: basic life support [bls certification] preferred.

certified medical assistant [national certification] preferred.

experience: direct ma experience or medical field work 1-2 years required.

• medical assistant course or diploma program or a minimum of 1 year professional experience
• national ma certification via aama, amt, nha, or ncct
• epic experience
• ambulatory/outpatient experience
• primary care experience
