The possibility for our employees to achieve their full potential, for our communities to be stronger and for everyone to have a healthier, happier place to live.Our portfolio of brands — Andersen Windows & Doors, Renewal by Andersen and Fenetres MQ — is crafted to serve customers across the new residential, home improvement and light commercial building sector.Join our more than 13,000 employees who are inspired every day to deliver exceptional experiences that turn possibility into reality.JOB DESCRIPTION:Electrical Controls EngineerPURPOSE:This position will be responsible for the Electrical Engineering requirements on some of the highest profile, most strategic projects across the entire Andersen Enterprise.Primary Role & ResponsibilitiesControls Engineering Design Resource;Perform Electrical / Controls / PLC Engineering design workHardware controls design focusEvaluate Controls / Electrical / PLC Engineering solutions to problemsWrite Machinery Control functional specificationsDocumentation of Electrical Design changesCapital Equipment / Equipment Project Support;Assist in the development and writing of electrical/controls functional specificationsCommunicate Electrical Specs/Standards to prospective suppliersCommunicate and verify documentation requirements are metEvaluate technology sufficient to meet specificationsComplete Electrical Portion of Safety AssessmentsCreate electrical/controls support plans for new equipmentCreate modifications to and maintain electrical standards and specifications (Safety, documentation, wiring practices)Ability to Evaluate Controls / PLC Technology for applications within our plant(s)Provide and/or coordinate detailed quotes/estimates for Controls /PLC Engineering workProvide and/or coordinate Budgetary Quotes/Estimates for Electrician workAble to Design /Modify/Debug Control PLC Systems that use the plant standardTechnology/Software Packages (*See list)Cross functional work within a project team and across various enterprise locationsHybrid work: 3 days in office per weekTravel requirements: Up to 50%Enterprise Controls PLC Engineering Standard Technology / Platforms/SoftwareNEC knowledge (NFPA 70)Safety Circuitry Redundancy and MonitoringRS Logix 5/500/5000 Ladder LogicRSView ME and SEFactory Talk View StudioDirectSoftRSLinxVariable Freq Drive (VFD) Configuration/SpecificationServo Drive Configuration/SpecificationAutoCAD to draw Wiring DiagramsEN954 Cat 1-4Sensor Application and SpecificationLAN and Network ConfigurationsMinimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or similar field.Preference of 5+ years’ experienceExperience with NEC, NFPA79, NFPA70E and other local and national codes that need to be met for electrical equipment.Demonstrated experience collecting data, performing statistical analyses, and making sound, data-driven decisions.Demonstrated experience establishing and implementing performance measures.Familiarity with and prior application of formal problem-solving techniques, root cause analysis, and the implementation of corrective and preventative measures.Embraces and drives change to improve.#LI-JL2PAY RANGE:$90,039.00 - $139,561.00CULTURE AND BENEFITS:At Andersen, we believe our people are at the heart of everything we do.
