Sheet Metal Foreman

Overview The Foreman is responsible for supervising and assisting the field and subcontractor workers with field installation activities in a specifically assigned area/portion of a project, including quality control and safety. Responsibilities Prepare the necessary tools and installation equipment in the work area prior to the arrival of workers. Provide installation instructions to the workers via detailed verbal explanations and/or detailed sketches. Ensure all materials are organized in the work area for ease of installation. Expedite tools, equipment, and materials to ensure that the workers stay in the work area. Inspect and test the installations. Call for code enforcement inspections. Mark-up as-built drawings daily. Timekeeping. Enforce safety policies and respond to incidents. Qualifications High School diploma or GED. Minimum of 3 years commercial construction experience holding a Foreman role. Leadership skills that motivate, build respect, and express a firm and fair attitude when directing workers. Experience enforcing company safety programs and compliance with OSHA regulations for a safe workplace. Management skills. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment. Excellent multitasking skills, with the ability to perform duties outside of the scope of work when necessary. Outdoor environments and physical requirements such as climbing stairs, remaining stationary for prolonged periods, repetitive motions, and moving between worksites. Environment and travel requirements: outdoor elements (precipitation and wind), vehicle/heavy equipment operation, and travel to job sites/offices (40-60% of the time).
