Registered Nurse (RN) - MS/Tele

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Med-Surg/Tele to join our team. This position involves providing comprehensive care in a fast-paced, high-volume emergency department borders setting for medical-surgical and telemetry overflow patients, primarily focusing on adult and geriatric populations.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer nursing care to patients in accordance with established protocols and guidelines.
• Monitor patient conditions and report changes to the healthcare team.
• Collaborate with team members to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Ensure adherence to safety and quality standards in patient care.
• Float within the specialty, including Med-Surg/Telemetry units as required.

Shift Details

This position requires a commitment to the following schedule:

• Night shifts: 3x12 hours (19:00 - 07:30)
• Every other weekend required.
• Holidays: Participation required as scheduled.

Qualifications

• Valid RN license in the state of Maryland.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIH) certification.
• Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience; first-time travelers with strong experience are welcomed.

Patient Care Information

The nurse will be responsible for managing a diverse patient population with a variety of diagnoses. The nurse-patient ratio is typically:

• 1:5 during the day shift
• 1:4 during weekend shifts

Additional Information

This position has a contract length of 20 weeks, starting on September 28, 2026. Required time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of the offer and cannot include more than one major and one minor holiday during the fall and winter seasons.
