Maintenance Planner Scheduler

The maintenance planner is responsible for ensuring that maintenance activities both repetitive and proactive are planned, scheduled, and tracked in an efficient and effective manner. Possess capability to identify, locate and source required materials/equipment required for repair. Anticipate potential problems before they arise (defect prevention and avoidable delays) and create a plan of action to address them. Reports to Facilities Director of Maintenance.

Essential duties include creating, maintaining and reviewing a program of work, ensuring that work/repairs are completed on time and within budget, producing progress reports and forecasts for team members, clients and stakeholders, breaking large jobs down into phases of development, working with estimators to calculate the resources needed for a project, meeting with contractors and suppliers, demonstrating knowledge mechanical, electrical and plumbing repair, writing scopes of work for bid, support of craft supervisors, and performing other job-related duties as assigned.

The position requires an undergraduate degree or associate's degree in a closely related subject like information management, facility management, or engineering, relevant work experience, recognized certified maintenance planner course (with equivalent experience), valid Texas driver's license preferred, and five to seven years of related experience. Strong computer skills with experience in computer maintenance management system (CMMS) are also required.

The working conditions include prolonged standing and/or walking, handling moderate weight objects, using or carrying equipment, stooping, bending or lifting, and exposure to moderate risk of accident.
