Job Description:

Duties:

• Participates in research and development activities.

• Utilizes established mathematical and scientific techniques to compile and analyze data. Writes technical reports detailing procedures, outcomes, and observations.

• Requires a bachelor's degree.

• Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.

• Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision.

• Primary job functions do not typically require exercising independent judgment. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager.

Experienced:

• Manage a R&D group within a specialized area with several reporting lines.

• Coordinate with other functions to drive innovation.

• Implement Function/Indication strategies.

• Direct tactical contribution in defining the direction of R&D operational plans. Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and monitor and control expenditures.

• Lead key projects across the area.

• Requires knowledge and understanding within several relevant areas which would typically be gained through minimum 5-7 years of relevant experience Would typically have a Masters degree/PhD

For Scientific Experts:

• Provide in depth expert advice for creating and implementing research/development programs and procedures to ensure a business benefit

• Provide high level scientific knowledge and insight to the research, development and business teams on technical aspects in the area of expertise

Entry:

• Manage a R&D group within a specialized area with a more than one reporting line. Coordinate with other functions to drive innovation.

• May assist in the preparation of annual budgets and monitor and control expenditures. Lead key projects across the area.

• Requires knowledge and understanding within several relevant areas which would typically be gained through minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience Would typically have a Masters degree/PhD

• Looking for genomics, microbiology - purely research role, very analytical.

• It is a purely hands on, bench-instrument role working with samples; live samples processed to bacteria, fungi, microorganisms, - very wide variety, requires experience with activating, inactivating, DNA extraction - preferably 5-10 years of EXP.

Skills:

Experienced:

• Follows broad frameworks to operate equipment needed to carry out trial work, and to ensure samples are available and delivered on time.

• Resolves routine issues with minimal senior staff or supervisory guidance and approval.

• Requires some prior relevant experience

Entry:

• Follows defined procedures to operate equipment needed to carry out trial work, and to ensure samples are available and delivered on time.

• Resolves routine issues with senior staff or supervisory guidance and approval.

• Requires little or no prior relevant experience

Education:

• Requires a bachelor's degree in chemistry / biology / sciences. Prefers Master's.
