Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (18:45–07:15) | 36- and 48-hour contracts accepted | 13–26 week contracts considered

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care for adult and geriatric Medical/Surgical and Telemetry patients with a daily census of approximately 43
• Manage patients receiving Heparin drips, high-flow oxygen, and occasional short-term BiPAP with respiratory support
• Float as needed within skillset to like units, including inpatient boarding in the ED; travelers are expected to float before core team members
• Participate in every-other-weekend rotation and work assigned holidays; must be available for on-call shifts as needed
• Attend mandatory monthly unit team meetings; night shift staff attend additional Friday morning sessions following scheduled Wednesday meetings
• May be assigned to a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team and expected to report during catastrophic events, mass casualty incidents, or disasters

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in North Carolina or a valid Compact RN license (pending licensure considered for submittal)
• BLS certification required
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Must be available to work holidays (expected to work 2 of 3 major holidays)
• Local candidates within 50 miles of the facility are welcome; a local rate will apply

Preferred Experience / Skills

• CPI certification preferred
• Charge nurse experience preferred, particularly for night shift candidates
• Familiarity with PYXIS, EPIC, SBAR, and BSSR documentation and communication systems
• First-time travelers are accepted and encouraged to apply
