We are full-service restaurants that uniquely combine traditional soul food with outstanding service and hip, energetic dining environments. Founded by former NBA All Star Kevin Johnson and his wife, Michelle, Fixins' menu is rooted in the Southern recipes passed down through generations from Kevin's family and friends. Established in 2019 with the flagship store in the Oak Park neighborhood of Sacramento, CA, Fixins is rapidly expanding. With additional current locations in Los Angeles (at the Staples Center), Tulsa (Black Wall Street), Detroit (Harmonie Park) and 6 new stores planned to open in the next 2 years, we are seeking team members at all levels to join us in our goal of becoming the largest Black owned restaurant group in the nation.Fixins Soul Kitchen is seeking a highly organized, energetic, and entrepreneurial Event Manager to lead the planning, execution, and promotion of events while serving as a key member of our restaurant leadership team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced hospitality environment, enjoys building relationships throughout the Los Angeles community, and has a passion for creating memorable guest experiences. The Event Manager will oversee all aspects of private events, catering opportunities, community partnerships, and local marketing initiatives while supporting daily restaurant operations as needed.Key ResponsibilitiesEvent Planning & Execution· Lead all private dining, community, and promotional events from inquiry through execution.· Coordinate logistics, timelines, staffing, equipment, décor, table setups, signage, and event materials.· Ensure every event reflects the Fixins brand and delivers an exceptional guest experience.· Be present and lead on-site during events, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.· Identify opportunities to create and host signature events throughout the year, including:o Black History Montho Juneteenth celebrationso Film premieres and studio eventso Artist and celebrity appearanceso Community partnershipso Corporate networking eventsBusiness Development & Community Relations· Build and maintain relationships with:o Downtown Los Angeles businesseso Hotels and concierge teamso Film studios and entertainment companieso Conference organizerso Local organizations and nonprofits· Develop new catering and private event opportunities.· Promote Fixins as a destination for corporate lunches, board meetings, celebrations, and special occasions.· Represent the restaurant at networking events and within the local business community.Marketing & Social Media· Manage the Fixins Los Angeles social media presence.· Create engaging content showcasing events, menu features, guests, and community involvement.· Work with leadership to execute local marketing campaigns that drive traffic and brand awareness.· Assist with promotional materials including table tents, signage, and in-store marketing displays.Restaurant Operations· Serve as a working member of the management team during restaurant operations.· Assist on the host stand during peak business periods.· Train, coach, and support the host team to deliver exceptional hospitality.· Maintain high standards for presentation and guest experience throughout the restaurant.· Collaborate closely with managers, kitchen leadership, and staff to ensure seamless event execution.Qualifications· 3+ years of experience in event management, hospitality, restaurant management, or marketing.· Existing relationships within the Los Angeles hospitality, entertainment, or corporate community or a proven ability to form them.· Strong organizational and project management skills with exceptional attention to detail.· Experience coordinating multiple projects simultaneously.· Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.· Comfortable working in a fast-paced restaurant environment.· Experience with social media management and content creation.· Self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset and the ability to identify new business opportunities.· Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.· Passion for hospitality, community engagement, and creating unforgettable guest experiences.· Must have a Food Handler's Card and Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) Certification if required by law (Certifications differ per state)Physical Requirements· Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs· Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching· Exposure to hot surfaces, kitchen equipment, and potential allergens$71,000 - $85,000 a year Final pay will be based on experience, qualifications, and applicable local wage laws.
