Job Overview Mental Health Associate (Adult Psych) – Night shift, Full-Time. Location: Central Jersey Behavioral Health, 1691 U.S. Highway 9, Toms River, NJ 08755. Facility: RWJBarnabas Health – Central Jersey Behavioral Health. Department: Adult Psych (AP). Pay Range: $21.46 - $26.89 per hour. Status: Hourly. Responsibilities / Essential Functions Group and individual patient supervision Facilitation of educational group activities Assist patients with personal hygiene as assigned Assist with nutritional needs and document intake Demonstrate ability to assist with ambulation, use of assistive devices, and patient positioning Assist with safe transport of patients to the emergency room and other departments or appointments Formulate positive and supportive therapeutic relationships with patients; set limits in a least restrictive, rights-respecting, and safe manner Participate in therapeutic and educational activities with patients as assigned by nursing and clinical staff; document behavior and patient responses using appropriate tools Perform all other duties as assigned Qualifications Required : Baccalaureate degree in psychology or related field (Social Work, Criminal Justice, Social Sciences, Public Health, or Science); or minimum 5 years of recent behavioral health experience; or completion of AIMS Mental Health Technician training certificate Excellent communication, time management, and interpersonal skills Successful completion of all orientation programs Preferred : Previous experience as a nurse aide or home health aide Minimum one year of experience, training, or education in the field of treatment Certifications and Licenses BLS Certification from the American Heart Association Scheduling Requirements 3 12-hour night shifts Full Time Every other weekend required Another Role Details The Barnabas Health Behavioral Health Center with Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus Behavioral Health Services constitutes a freestanding 100-bed acute care psychiatric facility which provides inpatient and intensive outpatient programs for adults and older adults diagnosed with psychiatric and dual disorders.
