About This Role Heavy Haul Truck Driver at Irby Construction Company shall possess the ability to operate/drive any truck, including tractor trailers in order to support all assigned work activity. Employee must have one (3) years experience of over‑the‑road driving, with heavy haul and oversized load experience. Prior experience operating a lowboy, Must possess a valid commercial driver’s license, class “A”. THIS JOB WILL BE LOCATED IN EATONTON, GA. What You’ll Do Drives truck to and from destination, applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations. Maintains Hours of Service driver logs according to DOT regulations. Will be required to load and unload truck. Will position and haul equipment such as bulldozers, bucket trucks, track equipment, conductor pullers, five drum machines, conductor reels, and/or cranes at the work location. Inspect truck equipment and supplies daily before each trip to ensure the proper operation and condition of the vehicle and load. Position and secure loads for transit using proper load securement as regulated by the DOT. May transport over‑sized and/or over‑weighted loads using proper escorts, signs, lights, flags and permits according to state and/or federal regulations. Able to perform daily walk arounds, routine and periodic checks, inspections, and the maintenance of equipment. Capable of loading and unloading equipment and materials. Adheres to all Company Safety and Health Policies while in the course of conducting Company business. Is required to maintain a current Medical Certification Card. What You’ll Bring Lowboy experience is required A valid CDL is required At least (3) years of over‑the‑road driving required. Lifting and handling materials up to 60 pounds unassisted. Walking and working across uneven terrain. Exposure to hot and cold weather conditions Climbing on and off large trucks and equipment.
