Staff Pharmacist

This Pharmacy is seeking a licensed Staff Pharmacist to oversee prescription processing, ensure compliance with pharmacy regulations, support patient care, and lead pharmacy operations in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Review, verify, and dispense prescriptions accurately and safely
• Ensure compliance with all state, federal, DEA, FDA, HIPAA, and Board of Pharmacy regulations
• Supervise and support pharmacy technicians and staff
• Counsel patients on medications, therapies, and immunizations
• Communicate with physicians, providers, vendors, and patients regarding pharmacy needs
• Monitor inventory, controlled substances, returns, and medication storage
• Maintain accurate pharmacy records and documentation
• Report and document medication errors and quality concerns
• Administer immunizations and maintain current CDC vaccination guidelines
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized pharmacy environment
• Deliver excellent customer service and build strong patient relationships
• Support scheduling, training, coaching, and staff development as needed
• Assist with additional pharmacy projects and operational duties assigned by the PIC

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or PharmD from an accredited pharmacy school
• Active California Pharmacist license and active Texas Pharmacist license in good standing
• Retail pharmacy experience preferred; compounding or sterile compounding experience is a plus
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
• Knowledge of pharmacy operations, inventory management, and regulatory compliance
• Proficient with pharmacy management systems and prescription processing software
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality and privacy of patient information at all times.
• Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments such as hospital units or long-term care facilities while maintaining attention to detail.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand or sit for extended periods
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs
• Ability to communicate effectively in English

Pay: From $65.00 per hour
