Primary Accountability: This position assigns tasks, keeps crew members on task, and inspects the quality of work while working alongside the crew members. The foreman is responsible to find solutions should challenges arise.

Expectations/Responsibilities:6

• Ensures client standards are attained by prioritizing projects, assigning work tasks to crew members, procuring required materials, filing work orders, and maintain records of projects.
• Conducts site inspections, provides hands-on leadership, and provides guidance for soil, planting, watering, and insect control
• Lead crew and participate in planting and trimming trees, shrubs, groundcover, sod, seed, watering, grading soil and gravel.
• Drives and maintains our vehicles
• Trains personnel with a strong emphasis on safety
• Working with the General Manager to create work schedules and maintain them.
• Shovel snow from walks, driveways, and parking lots, and spread salt in those areas.
• Operate powered equipment such as mowers, tractors, twin-axle vehicles, chainsaws, electric clippers, sod cutters, and pruning saws.
• Use hand tools such as shovels, rakes, pruning saws, saws, hedge and brush trimmers, and axes.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Competencies:

• Must have a minimum of a high school diploma or GED
• Must have 3+ years’ experience overseeing installation crews
• Must possess a valid driver’s license with a good record
• A background check will be conducted 
• Possesses supervisor and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated experience with the techniques and equipment used in landscaping
• Able to read blueprints
• Good communication skills with management and general contractors.
• Time management and the ability to meet daily deadlines.
• Ability to handle the physicality of our work: weather conditions, heavy lifting (30-80 pounds), and extensive walking.
• Ability to speak Spanish is a plus, but not required.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must complete physical and drug screen as part of pre-employment testing.
