We serve livestock producers, equine owners and animal lovers across North America, providing the guidance, products and service they need to succeed — whether in the market or the show ring.Job SummaryThe Packaging Operator III role is responsible for operating all sacking equipment to sack, with proper packaging, feeds from supply bins per Akralos specified feed formulations and packaging rates. This includes but is not limited to the operation of delivery equipment, scales, bag hangers, sewing heads, various conveyors and other packaging equipment. This is a 2nd shift role with a $2 per hour shift differential. The schedule is 8 hours per day, Monday through Friday, from 2:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.Facility ExpectationFollow the expectations of all Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality standards.Ensure product quality expectations are met.Follow all facility Good Manufacturing Practices as required.Responsible for ensuring area is kept clean and completion of all listed housekeeping duties per the master sanitation schedule.Work with other Operations colleagues to effectively communicate production issues.Once qualified, provide mentoring and training to new colleagues.Required to work overtime as specified by management.Attend training classes in-plant or at other locations as assigned.Work DutiesRequired to follow the production lineup to package all feeds in accordance with Akralos Product Specifications and established quality guidelines.Notify Plant Leadership, if any out-of-spec quality conditions exist. This includes checking bag weights, proper clean-out, sequencing, labeling and other quality concerns before, during and after a packaging run. Must have adequate quality training.Safely and efficiently operate all necessary equipment at all times (i.e. fork truck, etc.).Complete assigned work orders, paperwork and tasks in a timely manner.Provide training as necessary for new and existing employees when needed.Perform other duties as assigned by Plant Leadership.Minimum RequirementsHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalentGood customer service must be exhibited at all times.Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs.Must be able to perform physical tasks for extended periods of time including standing, walking, climbing, bending, pushing, pulling and twisting over surfacesAbility to wear protective clothing and equipment such as safety shoes, face masks, safety glasses, hearing protection, a hard hat, and gloves when requiredAbility to work in hot, cold, noisy, dusty, wet working conditionsAbility to work with allergens that might be present in a manufacturing environmentSelf-motivated with a solid work ethicGood attitude and works well in team atmosphere.Handles other duties as required.Maintain excellent attendance.This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-paced team that values your expertise and invests in your growth.
