As an Associate Director, Consumer Safety Science, you will play a key role in shaping the safety strategy for some of the world's most trusted consumer health brands, helping ensure that consumers can confidently use our products every day.This is a highly visible, strategic safety leadership role that partners closely with R&D, Regulatory, Medical, Quality, and Commercial teams to support both innovation and lifecycle management across Haleon's portfolio of trusted consumer health brands. The successful candidate will combine strong scientific judgment with business partnership skills to influence decisions that help ensure products remain safe, effective, and available to consumers around the world.You'll have the opportunity to influence decisions across a broad range of consumer health product types, including OTC medicines, wellness products, dietary supplements, cosmetics, medical devices, and digital health solutions. This is an excellent opportunity for a safety professional who enjoys working cross-functionally, applying scientific expertise to complex decisions, and contributing to products that improve everyday health for millions of consumers worldwide.What You'll DoLead Product Safety StrategyDefine and drive safety strategy for medium to high-risk products within assigned therapeutic categories and/or business units.Provide expert safety leadership to R&D innovation projects across consumer healthcare product categories.Serve as the safety representative on project teams and key cross-functional forums.Ensure strategic R&D planning remains aligned with safety objectives throughout the product lifecycle.Evaluate Safety Data & Manage RiskIntegrate, analyze, and interpret safety information from multiple sources, including clinical, post-marketing, and external data.Lead proactive signal detection and signal management activities.Provide recommendations regarding the prioritization, assessment, and escalation of safety signals.Develop and implement fit-for-purpose risk minimization activities, including product labeling updates and umbrella brand frameworks.Evaluate safety considerations associated with manufacturing-related product quality issues and defects.Influence Regulatory & Business DecisionsProvide safety expertise for regulatory submissions, health authority responses, and due diligence activities.Develop safety assessments and recommendations to support business decisions.Present safety strategies and recommendations to leadership and key internal stakeholders.Communicate complex scientific information in a clear and impactful manner.Drive Capability & Continuous ImprovementContribute to process improvement initiatives within Consumer Safety and across the broader organization.Train, coach, and mentor safety professionals in safety evaluation, signal detection, and risk management methodologies.Help advance best practices in safety science and risk management.Why You?Basic QualificationsAdvanced degree in Life Sciences (e.g., Biomedical Sciences, Medical/Health Sciences), Pharmacy, Nursing, or a related discipline.5+ years of experience in a similar role with extensive knowledge of pharmacovigilance.In-depth knowledge of causality assessment, safety signal evaluation, and proactive risk management strategies, including management of labeling changes.In-depth knowledge of regulations and methodologies applicable to safety evaluation and risk management activities.Knowledge of the therapeutic areas in consumer healthcare, including OTC medicines, wellness products (such as nutrition and cosmetics), pharmaceuticals, medical devices (a plus), or related disciplines.Medical and drug terminology and good understanding of pharmacology.Strong medical writing skills and computing skills.Preferred QualificationsDoctorate degree (PhD, PharmD, MD/DO, or internationally recognized equivalent).Experience supporting wellness products and/or consumer healthcare categories.Experience in related disciplines such as Clinical Development, Medical Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, or other product safety functions.Demonstrated leadership, influencing, and decision-making skills in a matrixed environment.Location & CompensationLocation: Warren, New Jersey (Hybrid, 3 days per week in office)Compensation: The salary range for this role is: $156,313 - $214,930 plus an 18% on-target bonus.#Li-HybridBenefitsHaleon offers a robust Total Reward package that consists of competitive pay and a comprehensive benefits program.
