General Maintenance Technician

The General Maintenance Technician will perform a variety of general maintenance functions, including installation of office partitions, patching and painting walls, equipment and plumbing repairs, and carpentry repairs. Responsibilities/Tasks/Duties include installing office partitions and furniture, installing a variety of flooring materials, repairing furniture, patching and painting walls, installing and maintaining door closers, locksets and passage sets, performing preventive maintenance on facility equipment, installing bulletin boards and writing boards, emergency generator inspection and test, air compressor inspection and test, sprinkler piping systems inspection and test, roof inspections, plumbing repair and maintenance, general mechanical repair and maintenance, and performing other related duties as assigned.

Requirements include three to five years experience as a general maintenance mechanic in a commercial/industrial facility, ability to perform a variety of carpentry related tasks, capable of performing plumbing repairs and maintaining facility equipment, familiar with surface preparation and painting drywall, wood, and metal surfaces, and ability to effectively communicate and respond to customer needs.
