Procurement Contracts Specialist (2 positions)

Job Description The City of Camas Finance Department is seeking qualified applicants for two Procurement Contracts Specialists. One position will serve as the primary point person for informal bidding contracts for Public Works, while the other will largely support citywide procurement operations within the Finance Department. These positions are Monday‑Friday 8 am–5 pm, with opportunity to work remotely up to two days a week. The positions are represented by the Camas Public Employees’ Association and are eligible for a full benefits package. Job Duties These positions will collaborate to strengthen procurement processes. The selected individuals will administer and manage contracts throughout the procurement lifecycle, ensuring compliance with applicable policies, best practices, and legal requirements. They will review, draft, and process formal and informal bidding documents, including requests for proposals (RFPs) and qualifications‑based selections. They will provide expert technical assistance and collaborative support to internal city staff and external contractors. Minimum Qualifications Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics or Supply Management, Legal Studies, or a related field Two years of experience in procurement or purchasing and related legal terminology Familiarity with e‑procurement and contract management preferred Washington State public sector experience preferred APWA Contract Administration Committee (CAEC) certification or equivalent Preferred Attributes Proactive, positive attitude, and willingness to take initiative Excellent customer service skills and diplomatic versatility to guide partners through regulatory processes Good verbal and written communication skills, strong computer skills, and demonstrated organizational and decision‑making abilities Flexibility to work non‑standard hours as needed Benefits The City of Camas offers a comprehensive benefits package to full‑time and part‑time employees.
