About the Position

TravelNurseSource is working with Generis Tek Inc to find a qualified Med/Surg RN in Dixon, Illinois, 61021!

- # of beds: 23 on 4th floor/14 on 3rd floor
- Ratios: 1:5 ideal- can go up to 1:6
- Required certifications: BLS
- Common diagnoses: NSTEMI/ COPD/ PNA/Sepsis/ AKI/
- Experience: 1 Year MedSurg
- Are RNs required to titrate drips?: No
- Charge Nurse/House Supervisor: Yes
- Are there nurse aids on this unit/Ratios: PCTs- 1:8
- RT Equipment: Home units only at this time. Heated High Flow is the highest level of hospital.
- Is there tele on this unit: Yes. MTs scheduled and will read the strips. RNs to sign off on strips throughout shift.
- Shifts & Scheduling: 7A-7P/ 7P-7A
- Weekend Requirement: Every other typically
- Holiday Requirement: Every other typically
- Is there a call or standby requirement?: Low census can happen but is rare. No on call.
- Floating Requirements: ICU if candidate has level of experience, ER if candidate has level of experience, BHC if candidate has level of experience. Otherwise no floating is required our of Med Surg.
- Scrub Color: Any scrub color is fine. Close toed shoes. Good hygiene.
- Department specific orientation: 1 shift of orientation. Binder supplied with details.

Requirements

Current Registered Nurse licensure by the State Board of Nursing in appropriate state (Illinois or Michigan)

Current American Heart Association HealthCare Provider BLS is required prior to start date of employment

Preferred: Education: BSN

Preferred: Experience as an RN in a healthcare environment
