Child/Adolescent Psychologist

Child/Adolescent Psychologist Part-Time Hackensack Meridian Health Carrier Clinic, Belle Mead, NJ Hackensack Meridian Health Carrier Clinic is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Part-Time Child/Adolescent Psychologist (20 hours/week) to join our acute inpatient psychiatric team. In this highly collaborative role, you will work primarily with children and adolescents (aged 7 and older), functioning as a clinical psychologist under the supervision of the Chief Medical Officer. You will independently diagnose and treat mental disorders and aspects of psychological adjustment while playing a vital role in functional assessment, cognitive evaluations, and coordinated treatment and discharge planning. Responsibilities Diagnostic & Clinical Care: Independently diagnose and treat mental disorders. Conduct thorough diagnostic evaluations, demonstrating strong skills in the use and interpretation of assessment tools to formulate accurate diagnostic impressions. Specialized Psychological Evaluations: Perform targeted psychological testing for children (and adults in referred cases) to aid in differential diagnostics, treatment, and discharge planning. Competence is required in administering and interpreting assessments including, but not limited to: Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale (WAIS-IV) Adaptive Behavior Assessment System (ABAS-3) Beck Rating Scales (Depression, Anxiety, Hopelessness, Suicide Ideation, etc.) Millon Inventories & Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory (MMPI) Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale (PANSS) Hare Psychopathy Checklist (PCL-R) Woodcock-Johnson Tests (WJ-IV-COG, WJ-IV-ACH, WJ-IV-OL) Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Partner with multidisciplinary treatment teams to provide effective, evidence-based interventions and seamlessly integrate testing outcomes into patient treatment and discharge plans. Child Advocacy & Liaison Work: Serve as a vital resource and liaison to community and governmental agencies seeking medical and mental health information or services for victims of child maltreatment. Documentation & Compliance: Maintain accurate records of patient contact in accordance with all relevant laws, HMH policies, Joint Commission standards, APA Ethical Principles, and New Jersey Board of Psychological Examiners guidelines. Professional Development: Participate in professional and community education conferences and seminars, identifying the specific needs of the patient population to modify and deliver targeted care. Qualifications Education & Experience: Required: Earned Doctorate in Psychology. Required: Active experience working with children in acute inpatient psychiatric settings. Required: Internship completed in clinical child, school psychology, adult clinical, and/or pediatric psychology. Required: Post-doctoral training and/or experience in child maltreatment or forensic psychology. Competence in performing the comprehensive psychological testing suite listed above. Licenses & Certifications: Required: Active New Jersey Psychologist License or Practicing Psychologist License. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms. Ability to adhere to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior. COMPENSATION Starting Base Salary: $53,976.00 Annually HMH is committed to pay equity and transparency for our team members.
