Registered Nurse Urgent Care

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse in the Urgent Care Department is responsible for providing clinical services, ensuring efficient clinic operations, and delivering high-quality patient care. This role includes collaborating with providers and staff, maintaining supplies and equipment, documenting care accurately, and overseeing clinic opening and closing procedures. The nurse must maintain certifications, participate in training, and uphold infection control standards in a fast-paced ambulatory care setting. Responsibilities: Required Skills & Certifications:

• Current full, unrestricted Registered Nursing license in Alaska (active at time of submittal).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of urgent care nursing experience within the last 2 years.
• Knowledge of nursing process, safety, and infection control principles.
• Skills in patient assessment, specimen collection, and use of medical and computer equipment.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task, work independently, and function well in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Experience in leadership or supervisory roles within clinical settings.
• Demonstrated ability to teach and mentor staff.
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
• Customer service skills and team-player attitude.

Special Considerations:

• Must have proof of flu vaccine.
• Start date dependent on timely submission and processing of fingerprint cards.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
• Must adhere to infection control policies and maintain a safe working environment.

Scheduling:

• Work schedule involves shifts within an ambulatory urgent care clinic setting.
• Shift details and assignments are managed by clinic leadership to ensure coverage.
• May include varied hours consistent with clinic operational needs.
