About the Opportunity

Specialized Recruiting Group is seeking a skilled Diesel Technician for a confidential opportunity with a construction equipment service provider in Northeast Iowa. This is a shop-based role, ideal for technicians who prefer working in a structured environment where equipment is brought in for diagnosis and repair.

The Diesel Technician will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a variety of diesel-powered construction and compact equipment. This role plays a key part in minimizing downtime and ensuring equipment is returned to service quickly and accurately.

Responsibilities

Diagnose, maintain, and repair diesel-powered equipment including compact construction machines and heavy equipment
Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical system issues
Perform accurate and timely repairs to minimize equipment downtime
Document all work performed, including detailed service notes and repair information
Update and manage work orders throughout the day using a computer system
Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient shop environment
Support overall shop productivity and quality standards

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required
1–5 years of diesel technician or heavy equipment repair experience
Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills across mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems
Basic computer skills for work order management and documentation
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced shop environment
