Nutrition Care Associate PRN

Schedule PRN – as needed to fill vacant shifts. 1st shift: 5:00 am – 1:30 pm. 2nd shift: 11:00 am – 8:00 pm. Benefits No benefits are included in this position. Uniforms Uniforms are provided. Overview As a Nutrition Care Associate on the Food & Nutrition Services team, you will support patient care and enhance the patient experience by delivering and presenting high‑quality, nourishing meals for inpatients, visitors, and the public. Food is more than fuel; it is comfort, healing, and connection. This role offers opportunities to grow your skills and expand into areas such as catering and other culinary specialties. Responsibilities Deliver and present patient meal trays using the standard process. Prepare food according to system standards such as assembling ingredients, preparing salads, sandwiches, vegetables, and fruit. Follow standardized practices of Nutrition Services, including meal delivery, maintaining required stock levels and the dining experience. Perform housekeeping functions: cleaning and sanitizing surfaces, floor care, and equipment (oven, fryer, hoods). Process accurate cash/credit transactions and independently resolve basic customer service issues. Skills Active listening Coordinating tasks with others Guest focused Communicating clearly Attention to detail Qualifications Food Handler Permit or ServSafe certification required by first day of work (required only in Utah and Idaho). Preferred: demonstrated ability to work with modified diets. Preferred: demonstrated ability to provide exceptional customer service. Physical Requirements Ability to see and read information, labels, monitors, and identify equipment and supplies. Frequent interaction with customers requiring clear communication. Manual dexterity for manipulating equipment and using computers, phone, and cable set‑up. Expected to lift and move items, frequently working on hands and knees and bending to set up, troubleshoot, lift, and carry supplies and equipment of varying weights, up to heavy items. Ability to remain standing for long periods. Tolerance of extremes in temperature and exposure to cleaning chemicals. Location Intermountain Health – St. Vincent Regional Hospital, Billings, Montana.
