Additionally, as a Specialty Cook, you will be responsible for monitoring ingredient levels, ensuring proper storage, and adhering to food safety guidelines at all times. Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Experience in producing high-volume, high-quality food from menus.
• Must have experience with various cooking duties (grilling, preparing sauces, etc.)
• Operating a traditional Asian cuisine cooking such items as meat and vegetables.
• Preparing Asian cuisine sauces, and desserts as per standard and style set by the Head Chef(s)
• Regulating temperatures of ovens, grills, burners/pans, and other cooking equipment
• Able to demonstrate a thorough understanding of traditional Asian cuisine including desserts.
• Ensure the correct preparation and presentation standard of the dishes is always maintained.
• Demonstrating tandoor techniques and cooking procedures to other staff if required
• Storing food in temperature-controlled freezers
• Checking on food supplies and advising the supervisor of any requirements
• Knowledge of HACCP/GMP is a plus, must comply with proper food handling policies and procedures.

Nonessential Functions:

• Other duties as assigned by unit Supervisors.

Education:

Minimum of an Associate's Degree three (2) years in (culinary) in culinary field or appropriate continuing education experience and relevant work experience.

Qualifications:

• Experience in producing Asian cuisine
• Flexibility to perform assigned tasks independently or as part of a team.
• Formal training in food, safety; regulatory compliance a plus
• HACCP knowledge.
• Excellent attention to detail and self-organized
• Ability to deal with a heavy workload.
• Ability to accurately monitor
• Flexibility (different shifts - night, weekends, holidays).
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to work with tight deadlines.
• Ability to work effectively with others in a team environment.
• Strong prioritization skills and the ability to perform multiple tasks.
• Valid food handler's certificate or equivalent.

Intellectual/Social demands:

While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee is continuously asked to multi-task under time limits. Position requires constant attention to precise details and accuracy of specified standards including following simple to complex (more than 3 steps) instructions, and concentration which frequently extends beyond 30 minutes at a time.
