Real Estate Attorney

Schwartz Manente has been exclusively serving the mortgage industry since 1989. Our firm concentrates its practice on the preparation of residential real estate closing documents for mortgage lenders across the nation. Additional services include attorney review and mortgage compliance services. Through our document preparation platform, DocsDirect, we also provide technology solutions for residential real estate document preparation. The Role We are looking for an associate attorney to join our legal team. Attorney responsibilities will include review and analysis of legal documentation (e.g., living trust agreements, powers of attorney, leasehold agreements, LLC documents, deed restrictions, etc.) as well as general legal and compliance support and research for our lender clients. The attorney will become an expert on state and federal lending rules and regulations, as well as Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, VA and FHA loan requirements. Responsibilities may also include analyzing loan documents such as title commitments, contracts, surveys and federal disclosures to prepare compliant loan closing document packages. Qualifications 0-10 years experience Prior real estate experience is beneficial, but not required Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Juris Doctor (JD) degree and licensed to practice law in Texas Competitive benefits package including 401(k) matching, health, dental and vision insurance, and paid time off.
