Position Summary

The Occupational Therapist (OT) will design and deliver occupational therapy services that build daily living skills, executive functioning, and sensory regulation for adolescents (ages 12 to 17) through neurodiversity-affirming care.

This role brings specialized OT expertise focused on helping youth develop the skills necessary for emotional regulation, daily functioning, social participation, and independence. This is a highly collaborative role that will have the support of an experienced clinical team that values your specialization and wants to integrate your clinical perspective into the broader treatment framework to strengthen and refine how we serve this population.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

• Conduct sensory processing and executive functioning assessments and integrate findings into the interdisciplinary treatment plan
• Develop individualized sensory regulation plans/strategies for use across the residential milieu
• Recommend and implement environmental modifications to the residential setting to support regulation and independence
• Consult with and train residential staff and therapists on sensory and regulation strategies
• Facilitate individual OT sessions focused on daily living skills, social participation, and independence
• Provide caregiver education and training to support skill generalization at home
• Accurately document observations, interventions, and evaluations pertaining to client care management and services provided
• Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

• Current and valid Occupational Therapist license required
• Skilled in trauma-informed, neurodiversity-affirming care highly preferred
• Prior work experience in residential treatment facility or home health preferred
• Two years of prior clinical experience as a licensed Occupational Therapist preferred
• Strong clinical assessment and organizational skills
• Ability to handle multiple assignments simultaneously
• Ability to utilize computers and other electronic devices for tasks such as timekeeping, in-servicing, and documentation
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to build rapport with adolescents in a residential setting, supporting adolescents through dysregulation with empathy and structure
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary treatment team required
