About the Role:

The Senior Tax Accountant will work across complex tax compliance, financial reporting, and client advisory engagements in a public accounting environment. The role calls for strong partnership and real estate tax experience, along with the ability to advise high-net-worth individuals and closely held businesses, manage client relationships, and guide junior staff.

Responsibilities:

Prepare and review federal, state, and multi-state tax returns for partnerships, corporations, individuals, trusts, and estates.

Review trial balances, general ledger activity, and year-end records; prepare journal entries and book-to-tax adjustments.

Perform audits, reviews, and compilations, and prepare GAAP-compliant financial statements with disclosures.

Develop tax planning strategies, research complex tax issues, and provide written recommendations.

Support tax controversy matters, including notices, examinations, and regulatory inquiries.

Advise clients on entity structuring, transactions, and long-term tax planning in collaboration with attorneys and financial advisors.

Mentor junior staff, review work product, and manage multiple engagements and deadlines.

Use accounting technology and workflow improvements to strengthen efficiency and client service.

Qualifications:

Active CPA license in good standing and a bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.

7 to 10 years of public accounting experience spanning tax and assurance.

Experience preparing and reviewing complex partnership, corporate, individual, and trust returns.

Strong knowledge of partnership taxation, including IRC Sections 704(b), 704(c), 754, 163(j), and 199A, as well as 1031 exchanges.

Experience serving real estate clients, closely held businesses, and high-net-worth individuals.

Knowledge of GAAP, financial statement preparation, audits, reviews, and compilations.

Strong tax research, client communication, and engagement management skills.

Proficiency with professional tax and accounting software, Microsoft Office 365, QuickBooks, and document management systems.

Desired Qualifications:

Experience with complex real estate partnerships, investment structures, and multi-state taxation.

Background in trust and estate taxation, wealth planning, or multi-generational tax strategies.

Experience supporting transactions, restructurings, and strategic tax consulting.

Interest in staff development, process improvement, workflow automation, and AI-enabled tools.
