Assistant Controller / Senior Accounting Manager

About The Role A high-growth medtech/neurotechnology company is building out its San Diego finance and accounting function and is seeking an accounting leader to help establish and manage the local GL team. Role: Assistant Controller / Senior Accounting Manager Location: Sorrento Valley, San Diego Schedule: 5 days/week onsite Compensation: $140K–$160K base + equity, pending experience What you’ll own Lead and manage the San Diego GL team Oversee monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes Review journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules Own key GL areas, including accruals and clinical/R&D-related accounting Ensure compliance with US GAAP and internal controls Partner cross-functionally with R&D, clinical, HR, and other teams Help mentor and build out a growing accounting team Ideal background 3+ years of Big 4 experience 3+ years of biotech, life sciences, or medtech industry experience Strong GL accounting and accruals experience Experience in a startup or smaller-company environment preferred CPA preferred Prior people management experience a plus NetSuite and Bill.com experience helpful This is best suited for a career-motivated accounting professional who is comfortable in a startup environment, enjoys building processes and teams, and wants to be close to the business in a role with real impact. #LI-NT1 #J-18808-Ljbffr
