Merchandising Assistant Manager

Overview As a Merchandise Assistant Manager at Dollar Tree, you’ll join the Store Manager in leading a dynamic team of associates and creating positive experiences for the communities we serve. Your focus will be on merchandising and processing freight. Responsibilities Assist with all store functions and day‑to‑day activities. Perform opening and closing procedures as needed. Protect and secure company assets, including store cash. Adhere to all policies, procedures and safety guidelines. Maintain store areas (stockroom, sales floor) to company standards. Process corporate directives such as Pull & Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, Key Survey information requests. Maintain cleanliness throughout the store (bathrooms, floors, trash, overall neatness). Ensure a positive, safe, respectful environment and professional interactions with customers, associates, and leaders. Assist with processing receipt and return of free‑ship‑to‑store (DSD) merchandise. Manage freight flow according to productivity standards. Order and stock merchandise needs, including frozen & refrigerated items, per productivity standards. Maintain displays, clip strips, power panels and ensure sales effectiveness. Plan & implement monthly sales planners. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Prior retail and management experience preferred. Strong communication, interpersonal and written skills required. Ability to lift 30‑50 lbs. from floor to above shoulder height and meet frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting demands. Ability to work in a high‑energy team environment.
